Are Vaccines Safe? - American Medical Centers (Lviv)

Are Vaccines Safe?

Statistics show that 95 out of 100 children will not fall sick even being in direct contact with an infection if they had been vaccinated on time.

Still, often parents refuse recommended vaccinations and consider them dangerous or are concerned about side-effects or reactions such as:

  • fever
  • fatigue
  • pain
  • swelling
  • redness
  • rash

If there is a reaction to a vaccination, it is likely to last 1 to 2 days, without requiring additional treatment.

All said, however, It is important to understand that infectious diseases can lead to more serious consequences than temporary reactions. For instance, paralysis can be developed along with poliomyelitis. Measles, for instance, may cause encephalitis and blindness, while some diseases can even end in death.

Vaccines are safe and will reliably protect a child from infectious diseases and their possible consequences. At AMC Lviv we provide vaccines according to American / European protocols or patient-preferred immunization schedule.
